Where It All Began
Why Camp Sarah?
Camp Sarah offers a unique chance to connect with Jewish culture, strengthen faith, and build lifelong friendships in a vibrant African setting, while engaging in enriching activities that celebrate Jewish traditions and values. It fosters a sense of belonging and identity, promotes leadership skills, and encourages personal growth, all within a supportive community that understands the importance of heritage and shared experiences.
Founded in 2023 as a Jewish educational and cultural day camp for youth from the Nigerian Jewish community and based on its success, Camp Sarah is expanding as a Nigerian Jewish youth movement with the aim of providing an educational and fun experience that fosters personal growth, a cohesive community and a love of Judaism.
“Camp Sarah has done so many great things for us. We ate good food, made new friends, and learned and played all day.”
- Mazal Tov, 2024 camper, age 11
A New Beginning for Nigerian Jews!!
Camp Sarah is where all communities feel at home, make great friends, and celebrate Jewish life—Nigerian style! It's more than just a camp; it's a place where we laugh, learn, and eat a little too much (because who doesn’t love good food?).
Since its founding, Camp Sarah has hosted more intra-synagogue gatherings across the year. From eating Latkes to dancing with the Torah, and even building moving sukkahs. Campers and staff alike meet and continue to grow their friendship and bond over dancing and music. This oneness has bloomed across the Nigerian Jewish community, creating and recreating bonds throughout all age groups.
To everyone, Camp is like one big reunion.
Camp Sarah has so many stories to tell.
